The Secret of the Con Man
Two conmen - Richard and Rodrigo chasing yet another con man (not in pic)
I recently saw a con movie "Criminal." Its a movie about how an elderly con man takes on a protege and teaches him tricks of the trade. The elder con man "Richard" explains to his protege "Rodrigo" why he always dresses well, and drives a $60,000 car:
"People will trust you and give you their money if you look like you already have money"

sidenote: I love watching con and heist movies. The psychology con men use to make money cheating ordinary people is fantastic. I figure - if con men can use the psychology to gain money illegaly, I sure as hell can use the same psychology legally and make more money!

The key word is: trust.
A book is often judged by its cover. And your business is often judged by its location and the clothes you and your employees wear.
Act like you are already successful and you will attract clients like magnet attracts iron. I remember reading "Winning through Intimidation" by Robert Ringer, who is a very successful real estate broker today.
To build his image up, Ringer hired 3 secretaries that always go with him to client meetings, even when he couldn't afford them. The prospective client would see Ringer wearing dashing clothes and walk in with 3 good looking secretaries and think that he is a BIG SHOT. And do business with him.
Later on, Ringer also went on to buy his own airplane to build his image even further. When prospective clients would find out that a broker is coming in his own plane, they would instantly believe Ringer to be extremely successful. And do business with him. Ringer didn't require any references when he arrived in a plane!
Action Summary:
- Invest some time and money in building your image up.
- Act as if you are already successful and success will soon chase you.
