Caroline goes to Disney World
Disney World: The best place on the planet?
Caroline is six years old. She goes to Disney World with her family. Very early into the day, the entire family enters a novelty store and buys, among other things, a Mickey label with Caroline written on it. Caroline attaches it to her shirt instantly.
The day goes by and the family is having their fun. Late in the evening, the family stands in a line for a ride. The line moves on slowly, but finally their turn is next. The guy at the gate asks Caroline:
"Where are you from?"
"Michigan"
"You are THE Caroline from Michigan every one is talking about?"
"What is everyone saying?"
"That Caroline from Michigan is the prettiest girl in Disney World!"
Did I tell you that Caroline's most favourite place in the whole wide world is Disney World?

Its not because of the fun and glamour. Its not because of the rides. Its not because of Mickey Mouse. Caroline loves Disney World more than any other place on the planet because of a 10 second conversation she had with the gate keeper before the ride!
Action Summary:
- The gate keeper was observant and noticed Caroline's Mickey name tag. He conversed with people in the long queue when their time came, to make their wait a bit un-boring. He went out of his way to make a little girl's day. You've got to hire employees like that.
- Hire employees who can make your clients feel comfortable... even if they aren't that talented. You can teach your employees stuff like stock keeping, accounting etc. But its very hard to teach them "people skills."
- Focus on your prospect instead of focusing on yourself. Make her feel like she is the best person in this world and she will be loyal to you forever.
