![]() How cars are wreckedAccording to some statistics, red cars are the cars most likely to be stolen. Keeping this in mind, some researchers got together to conduct a social experiment. They left a brand new red car in a ghetto neighbourhood for one night. The neighbourhood was infamous for its car robberies. They returned the next morning and found the car intact in the same position it was left behind. The researchers were stunned. A few weeks later they tried to conduct the same experiment. A similar red car was left in that same ghetto neighbourhood. There was one change though: One window was broken. The next morning when the researchers came back for the car, they found that all four tires were missing. The headlights were gone. The radio was missing. The steering wheel had disappeared too. The beautiful red car was a total wreck. The researchers conducted similar experiments in similar neighbourhoods in different parts of the country and found similar results. They used cars with different colours too. The car was never touched when no window was broken. But if the window was broken, the car would be completely demolished by the next morning. Apparently, even thieves are controlled by their surroundings. When the thieves saw the broken window, they believed that someone had already done the damage, what harm will a bit more damage do? And they joined in the fray. Action summary:
